There were 11 incidents in Howick. There were 4 incidents in Boston. There was 1 incident in Elandskop. There was 1 incident in Merrivale. There was 1 incident in Howick West. There was 1 incident in Dargle. There was 1 incident in Hilton. There was 1 incident in Tweedie.
KSS/AET Incidents 15 August – 3 September 2022
15 August 2022 11:34 Riley Crescent (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that the front door had been tampered with. No access was gained. Nothing was stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened. KSS/AET conducted additional patrols in the area.
15 August 2022 12:34 Lawton Road (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room was advised by an on-site KSS/AET Security guard that a shop employee needed assistance as 3 men were harassing her. A KSS/AET Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers advised that the men had left the premises by the time they arrived. The KSS/AET assisted the women going to SAPS to make a statement and open a protection order.
16 August 2022 16:17 R617 (Elandskop) The KSS/AET Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS/AET Response Team and SAPS were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that the client had been held up at gun point and cash and cell phones were stolen. SAPS arrived to assist. A case was opened.
16 August 2022 20:02 Dick Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room was advised that taps had been stolen. The client requested technical assistance.
19 August 2022 03:01 Main Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received a panic activation from an on-site Security Guard. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that 3 suspects had jumped the wall and then stolen an old air-conditioning unit and fled. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
20 August 2022 01:35 Eridene Road (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received an alarm activation and CCTV camera activation. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that a small windowpane had been removed to gain access and then a larger window broken to escape. Electronic items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
20 August 2022 11:49 Tulip Road (Howick West) The KSS/AET Control Room received a panic activation. KSS/AET Response Teams were dispatched. A suspect was apprehended stealing items. SAPS were advised and reported to the scene. The matter was handed over to SAPS.
22 August 2022 21:31 Klaasen Road (Merrivale) The KSS/AET Control Room were advised by a client that there were suspicious noises coming from the railway line – like steel being dragged. KSS/AET Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that railway cable was recovered. SAPS and Transnet were formally advised. A case was opened.
23 August 2022 08:45 Main Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room was advised that a car battery had been stolen. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that access was gained by jumping the fence. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
25 August 2022 14:00 P132 (Dargle) A patrolling KSS/AET Officer reported to the KSS/AET Control Room that there had been stock theft. Another KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched to assist, and one sheep was found dead with another 3 missing. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
26 August 2022 15:00 Lawton Road (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received a call from an on-site KSS/AET Security Guard who needed assistance. KSS/AET Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that 2 suspects had stolen money from a client. The suspects were apprehended. As per the victim no need for SAPS as the money was recovered.
27 August 2022 22:08 Clarendon Road (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room were advised that there was a suspect on site. KSS/AET Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that the suspects fled when they realized Armed Response was on the way. Access was gained by jumping the fence. Nothing was stolen.
27 August 2022 22:29 Rylands Road (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room was advised by a client that a truck had bumped into him in Howick. The incident was reported to SAPS. A case was opened.
30 August 2022 11:30 R617 (Boston) The KSS/AET Control Room were advised about poachers on the farm. Patrolling KSS/AET Officers managed to respond and assist the client who had apprehended 2 under-age suspects and 4 dogs. SAPS were formally advised. A case opened. The youths will attend court with their parents.
30 August 2022 23:40 Midmar (Tweedie) The KSS/AET Control Room received an alarm activation and mains failure signal. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that access was gained by breaking the lock on the gate. Items were stolen. The KSS/AET K9 unit was also dispatched. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
31 August 2022 20:30 R617 (Boston) The KSS/AET Control Room were alerted to possible intruders. Security Officers were placed on-site and confronted the intruders when they came on-site to steal sheep. The intruders fled.
1 September 2022 03:42 Old Howick Road (Hilton) The KSS/AET Control Room received a panic activation. KSS/AET Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that there were suspects on site. Access was gained by cutting the fence. The suspects fled. Nothing was stolen. As per the client she would report the incident to SAPS to following day.
1 September 2022 20:30 R617 (Boston) A patrolling KSS/AET Officer noticed a suspicious vehicle with bales of hay. The vehicle was escorted to SAPS as it was un-roadworthy, and the license had expired 3 years previously. KSS/AET handed the matter over to SAPS.
2 September 2022 09:30 R617 (Boston) The KSS/AET Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that 300m of cable had been stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
4 September 2022 11:55 Gush Avenue (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room was advised that there had been a break-in. A KSS/AET Response Team was dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that shoes and tools had been stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.
4 September 2022 18:23 Main Street (Howick) The KSS/AET Control Room received a CCTV camera activation. KSS/AET Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS/AET Officers reported that nothing had been stolen or tampered with. The client was advised.
