Please make sure that as KSS clients, you DO NOT discuss any details regarding an active investigation with ANYONE other than KSS Operations Management and SAPS Investigating officers. Outsiders, including personnel from other security services providers, can jeopardise the investigation if the information is not handled correctly. INTEGRITY OF INFORMATION IS FUNDAMENTAL.

This has been the case in our community, and it is most concerning as KSS Operations Management take their role and collaboration with SAPS very seriously.

KSS Incidents 1 - 17 November 2025
1 November 2025 21:21 Campbell Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there was an intoxicated suspect on site. There were no signs of forced entry. Nothing was stolen. The KSS Officers handed the suspect over the SAPS.

2 November 2025 23:23 York Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client reporting a suspect on site. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. KSS Officers conducted an all-round check. Nothing was stolen.

2 November 2025 23:25 Northumberland Avenue (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. The client reported a suspect on site with a bicycle. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported the suspect had fled. Nothing was stolen. The client stated the bicycle did not belong to him. The suspect was then seen later in Rylands Road with the bicycle. The suspect was apprehended by a patrolling security service provider and handed over to SAPS.

2 November 2025 03:51 Exchange Lane (Howick) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported meeting a person on site who was hiding from a group of people who were chasing him. An all-round check was conducted. Nothing was stolen. The KSS Officers handed the suspect over the SAPS.

2 November 2025 04:35 Main Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation showing a suspect on site. KSS Response Teams were dispatched, and the client advised. The KSS Response Officers reported that there was a person sleeping in a vehicle. An all-round check was conducted. As per the client no need for SAPS. The person was escorted off site.

2 November 2025 16:40 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a KSS Security Guard via i-Talk radio reporting he had apprehended a suspect shoplifting. A KSS Response Team and SAPS were dispatched. The suspect was handed over to SAPS.

2 November 2025 20:22 Overdene Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation, and the client reported a suspect on site. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect was stealing copper pipes when he was disturbed by the client and fled. The suspect gained access through a hole in the fence. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

3 November 2025 00:57 Hilton College Road (Hilton) The KSS control room received a call from a client reporting a positive break-in and 2 bicycles had been stolen. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers met with the client and conducted a search. The KSS Officers reported that 1 bicycle was recovered. The suspect had also dropped an angle grinder. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

4 November 2025 09:20 Market Street (Howick) The KSS control room received a call from a client requesting assistance in checking CCTV footage. The client reported a laptop had been stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

5 November 2025 00:29 D534 (Hilton) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers met with on-site staff who could not tell if anything had been stolen. An all-round check was conducted. The client advised they would assess if anything had been stolen and go to SAPS if needed.

6 November 2025 07:59 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a chain from the main gate had been stolen. As per the client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

6 November 2025 13:43 Salinga Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received call reporting a truck on fire. A KSS Response Team and the Fire Department were dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that on arrival N3 Fire was onsite and managed to put the fire out. There were no injuries reported.

7 November 2025 14:50 Prospect Road (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a call from a KSS onsite Security Guard via i-Talk radio requesting assistance. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers met the client on-site and reported that a truck had reversed into a charging point. As per the client the matter will be dealt with internally.

7 November 2025 15:53 Birnamwood Road (Merrivale Heights) The KSS Control Room received a message from a KSS staff member reporting a break-in to a house. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspects were disturbed. The bedroom cupboards were ransacked. There were no signs of forced entry. Jewelry, a laptop and numerous other items were stolen. SAPS were formally advised. A case was opened.

9 November 2025 21:37 St Micheals Road (Hilton) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the studio doors were unlocked, and the frame was bent. The suspect fled. Nothing was stolen. KSS conducted extra patrols in the area.

10 November 2025 22:09 Rose Avenue (Howick West) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that there had been an armed robbery. Three suspects stole a gate remote and an undisclosed amount of money. The suspects tied the clients up and fled the scene. KSS handed the matter over to SAPS. A case was opened and is pending further investigation. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

10 November 2025 17:15 Railway Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a message reporting a suspect had jumped over a fence and stolen clothes from a washing line. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that the suspect had fled. As per client no need for SAPS. KSS conducted additional patrols in the area.

11 November 2025 11:11 Harvard Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client requesting assistance as they had noticed a suspect in-store who had stolen from them recently. KSS Response Teams were dispatched. The KSS Response Officers reported that they had apprehended the suspect. After viewing CCTV footage, the suspect admitted to stealing the paint. SAPS were formally advised. KSS handed the incident over to SAPS. A case was opened.

12 November 2025 03:48 Cedara Road (Cedara) The KSS Control Room received an alarm activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Response Officers reported a broken window. The on-site Security Officer was advised and KSS handed the incident over to the respective security service provider.

12 November 2025 19:38 Birnamwood Road (Merrivale Heights) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client reporting a suspect in possession of stolen spot lights. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officer Reported access was gained through the top gate that was left open. The suspect fled. As per the client no need for SAPS.

14 November 2025 03:52 Ogilvie Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a CCTV camera activation of a suspect on site. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. An all-round check was conducted. The suspect fled and dropped the stolen gutter. The gutter was recovered and the client advised. As per the client no need for SAPS.

14 November 2025 07:20 Saligna Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client reporting a positive break-in. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that two boats have been tampered with and wiring cut. Access was gained by jumping over the wall. As per the client no need for SAPS.

15 November 2025 14:10 Buchanan Street (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client reporting a suspect on site. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers met with a security service provider who had apprehended the suspect. The suspect had stolen a kettle. As per the client no need for SAPS.

16 November 2025 10:21 Rylands Road (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a panic activation. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a suspect had jumped into the client’s yard and then fled. Nothing was stolen. KSS conducted extra patrols in the area.

16 November 2025 11:23 Devonshire Avenue (Howick) The KSS Control Room received a call from a client reporting a suspect had jumped into the yard and then fled. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that nothing had been stolen from those premises, but that the KSS Officers had recovered stolen items from another property. KSS conducted extra patrols in the area.

16 November 2025 14:35 Holiday Road (Merrivale) The KSS Control Room received a message of a suspect who was trying to enter a vacant plot. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported they met the security service provider on site. The suspect was apprehended. The client advised no need for SAPS.

16 November 2025 22:04 Petrusstroom Road (Petrusstroom) The KSS Control Room received a solar box tamper signal. A KSS Response Team was dispatched. The KSS Officers reported that a solar gate battery had been stolen. KSS conducted a search in the area. As per the client no need for SAPS.
